Olá! My name is Carina Olim and I am your destination wedding planner in Portugal here at La Key. However, I don’t see myself simply as a person plans a wedding. If you asked me to define my role, I’d say memory maker, visual designer, logistics coordinator, contract negotiator and supplier liaison. But, above all, your trusted confidante.
My task stretches so far beyond simply planning a wedding. It involves designing an experience that feels intrinsically right for you – a match made in heaven, or a perfect fit. It also means helping your family and friends, who have flown round the world to join you, to have the time of their lives while celebrating your special day.
I’ll be your voice of calm and steadying hand at every moment in the planning process. I want you to feel comfortable and ready to enjoy every moment fully when the time arrives.
So where do the skills that enable me to create the event of your dreams come from?
My journey started at Les Roches International Swiss School of Hotel Management, where I graduated in International Hospitality Management. I then poured all my learning into extensive experiences at five-star hotels and catering companies around the world. Specifically developing my knowledge of the hospitality and event industry from inside-out! From coordinating the hustle and bustle behind the scenes, to delivering glamorous events for guests from all over the world.
Meanwhile, after many years working internationally, the call of Portugal was simply too irresistible and so I returned home. Then, in 2013 with an ounce of courage and a wealth of high-quality contacts, I channeled everything I’d learned into creating La Key. Ever since, I’ve helped couples from all over the world celebrate their dream destination weddings in Portugal.
With an intuitive appreciation of what it takes to create a five-star event and a dedication to the personal, I’m proud to deliver some of Portugal’s finest destination wedding experiences for couples just like you.
